Confidence plays a vital role in the success of anyone. Lack of confidence not only puts you down but it will also make you succumb and turn towards your own shell. So lack of confidence should be replaced by a radiance of ever ending confidence and self esteem. Most of us feel the lack of confidence in some areas which has to be worked upon for the better.

Essentially, the word hypnosis is just another word for relaxation. Yes hypnosis is brought on by suggestion, but it’s that deep state of relaxation that qualifies hypnosis. I sometimes use the term creative relaxation. When I say that, I’m referring to the fact that it’s the use of hypnosis that I call therapy. I’ve always defined hypnosis as just what it is, an altered state of awareness through deep relaxation.

Some people define relaxing as just taking time to read through a magazine or have a cup of tea. But really just changing activities is not relaxation. When you reach a state of total relaxation through hypnosis, you will see the difference. Read more…

The whole idea of eye fixation has some merit. It’s true that concentration and focus are key ingredients in achieving hypnosis. And eye fixation was in fact used commonly, decades ago, in inducing hypnosis. The desired state of a hypnotic subject is to have them completely relaxed, eyes closed, so that their focus is internal, rather than external. To really shut out the external channels, you need to eliminate your visual sense temporarily, your external visual sense that is.  Eliminate what you see on the outside, so that you can focus on what you see inside your own psyche. Isn’t it frustrating when you seem to take two steps forward only to take three back in pursuit of your goals?

The main cause of this is the inherent self-limiting beliefs you hold in your sub-conscious that were not born yesterday but have become deeply buried in there from your childhood. These self-limiting beliefs prevent you from getting what you want restricting your personal development.

In order to do something about them first of all you have to accept their existence, in order to do so you need to have the self confidence to know what they are.

I can almost guarantee that sometime during your childhood you heard such things as ‘Don’t’ ‘Stop’ ‘Quiet’ ‘Your too small’ ‘You cannot do that’ and more

Then there would be times when you actually tried something new and if you did not get immediate results you were met with almost derision from your peer group or even relatives.

A favourite put down when I was growing up was, ‘children should be seen and not heard’ have you had that said to you? This little phrase can fester inside you and have a great impact on how you see yourself in later life.

Confidence is a funny thing. Are some people – the gorgeous and successful among us – born with it? Of course not. These people got to be successful and smooth by appearing to be confident. And what about those who were smart enough to choose the right parents or get dipped in the gorgeous-gene pool? Well, you might not believe it but often these people are surprisingly insecure and frightened – of losing their looks, of appearing stupid and superficial, of growing old, of putting on weight, or of having no one love them for any reason other than their looks.

You don’t have to be stunning to be confident. Go ahead and accept the ride home with the too-cute guy from your building who you never thought would ask you out.
